Friday
31st October
I've been very good, patient and kind today. When the
INCIDENT occurred Mum left Andrew with me while she cleared up. I played
very nicely with Andrew for ten minutes or more. I found the hair clippers
and showed him those.
I never stop talking, just by the way, I'm always saying
"I think this" or "I'm going to do that" or "I've
got an idea" or something similar. I like to fill up any silences
with at least a small amount of noise.
Thursday
30th October
The most important thing that happened today was that
Mum bought me some very special Fimble™
pyjamas. I'm really rather pleased with them and
I expect I will be asking to go out in them all day tomorrow. I've gone
off the tellytubbies now. I went off them the day after Mum managed
to get a tubbie duvet cover. I have been very lucky to receive Fimbo,
Florrie and Pom as presents and they are now my constant companions.
Wednesday
29th October
It's been a very difficult day today because ANDREW has
been shouting lots and lots. Despite being told to lie still when he's
having his nappy changed he will persist in rolling all around the place.
Anyhow, when he was crying I gave him one of my dummies to calm him
down. He didn't really know what to do with it, but he looked like he
appreciated the gesture.
Tuesday
28th October
Today I have been very reasonably behaved. I have also
said some funny things to Mum and Dad. I told Mum to "stay there"
again when we were in the park. This left me free to go and jump in
some puddles. She caught me out though because she said we probably
shouldn't go to the playground if anyone had wet feet, and my feet were
quite wet.
We did go to the park eventually and I while we were sitting
in our little house I warned Mum about the admittedly very small step
at the threshold. I said that she should be very very careful of the
step.
I got a free biscuit in Sainsburys from the man who runs
the whole shop. It was because we had to wait for ages at the bakery
counter because I wanted either a mouse biscuit or a gingerbread man.
It was the tastiest gingerbread man ever and I ate his feet first.
Monday
27th October
I played an excellent trick on Mum today. First I made
sure that she was in the kitchen and then I went in and told her that
she should "stay right here". Her first mistake was in listening
to me. Then, stealthily, I went into the living room and just for good
measure I shut the door. Mum's second mistake was to not open the door.
Next, very carefully I tore open the box of chocolates
and effected an entry and removal hole. Veeeery carefully I took a few
chocolates out and ate them. I ate two. I tried a third one but it was
an orange cream and only Dad likes those so I put it back in the packet.
Eventually Mum noticed the tell tale signs of liquid chocolate running
down my chin and the whole sorry tale came out. She didn't mind too
much though.
Sunday
26th October
We all went to granma's old house today to do some tidying
up. My specialist skills were needed to mend the hoover. Dad helped
and eventually it worked properly again. It was probably my hitting
it with a screwdriver that actually fixed it rather than anything Dad
did.
I had a lovely time playing the piano with Andrew. It
was a kind of a duet, Andrew's hits were less controlled than mine but
we played a lovely barely recognisable tune all the same.
"Andrew is only a tiny tiny tiny baaaaaby..."
Another long journey home in the afternoon and it was
dark when we got home.
Saturday
25th October
It's still very cold. I'm very surprised that I woke up
at all this morning it was so cold. Anyway - There are some heaters
in the kitchen so it will get a bit warmer.
Esther and Hannah arrived this afternoon and they brought
my other long lost aunt with them. Bek has got pink hair now. Very unusual.
Anyway - i gave her a few hard stares which she endured. I expect she
will get along fine as my new aunt. Hannah was kind enough to cuddle
me to sleep at bedtime.
Friday
24th October
It's a special holiday day for Dad and we are all going
to see Grandma in her new house. You may remember that she had to get
a new one because her old one was dirty. Anyway - I didn't help too
much with the preparations - i was probably more of a hinderance than
a help.
We found Grandma's house exactly where she said it would
be and I helped a bit by looking around the whole house, which is very
long and big. You can fit two of our front rooms into her front room.
I made lots of helpful comments like "aha" and "oho"
as I looked around. Grandma had kept all my toys out so I was able to
have some fun with those.
Her house is very cold though and it took some bravery
to have a bath.
Thursday
23rd October
It's happened at last - I am front page news. I knew eventually
that the public would catch up with me and today, that day finally arrived.
My picture on the front of the paper which is 35p WHERE SOLD. You don't
get much more prestige than that when you're only two.
In more less famous and mundane news I helped Dad tidy
up the front room this evening in a very efficient way, I personally
tidied all of Andrew's toys up, which admittedly I did tip out. I was
a bit upset that Dad didn't ask for my autograph though.I do a good
line in writing "Peter" at the moment. I usually like to do
it on my magnetic writing thing.
Dad asked me if I could say "Rufus Wainwright"
today. I said... "errr, no thank you, because I am just going to
eat my tea"
Wednesday
22nd October
There has been some good behaviour today and some bad
behaviour. It's not wise to dwell on the bad behaviour, so really any
readers should concentrate and focus on my good behaviour.
Tuesday
21st October
We went to the park today and there was a man called Neville
who wanted to take some photographs of park users in the colourful autumn
leaves. I'm afraid that I wasn't much help. I looked closely at all
the leaves while he was busy watching and as soon as he turned his back
I threw the leaves into the air. Just like he wanted me to. Apart from
he wasn't watching when I did it. This is my secret ability.
Dad said: "are you alright Peter" I said "errr.
no thank you, i'm doing a poo actually."
Monday
20th October
The day started very well. I'm sorry to say that it didn't
stay that way at all. The best thing that happened today was me seeing
a huuuuge aeroplane - Mum said it was Concorde. It was the biggest plane
that I've ever seen.
Sunday
19th October
It's been a very interesting day today. I was playing
with my special magnetic notepad and I had a few ideas. Within a few
minutes I had drawn my first proper face (one eye and two eyes and a
mouth...) and then I started impressing dad by drawing some letters.
I drew a P and a T and an S and an A and a D and a H and a O and a X.
Maybe I drew a few others too. I'm not sure. Dad was very pleased and
in typical Dad style he tried to get me to write my name down. I drew
him a series of abstract lines in the style of one of the great avant
garde artists. That should teach him a lesson.
I have got some new mangetic letters for my fridge to
play with. Yes. You read correctly. Mangetic letters for my fridge to
play with. All my favourites are there, and some of my not so favourites
too. I also have all the numbers. My favourite ones at the moment are
S,T,H,B,V,D,J,4,6,8,2 and L becuase they are the green ones. I've grouped
them all together in one special area. I suspect that Mum and Dad will
be writing messages on the fridge after I have gone to bed, so my arrangement
will be ruined. Again.
Saturday
18th October
It's official - I need new pants. I've grown out of the
old ones and they are starting to become very uncomfortable, If I may
quote from my illustrious Aunt - they are strangling my bottom. NEW
PANTS PLEASE!
I had several lovely quiet times with Mum today because
Dad took Andrew out somewhere. This gave Mum and I some precious precious
book and puzzle time without the constant danger of destruction that
Andrew brings to the equation.
I've also started to use the word "I" a lot
more today - just for fun. I'll see how useful it is before I decide
to keep it in my vocabulary. I can't belive it's more useful than earlobe
- which I've used twice today.
Friday
17th October
I have learnt a few new words for things today. Mum taught
me Tyranasaurus rex - "tana-rana-soo-rus" - and Dad taught
me earlobe. I prefer tana-rana-soo-rus to earlobe, although I can see
that earlobe might be the more useful word. TANA-RANA-SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-RUS!!!
Thursday
16th October
I did lots of colouring in my special colouring book today.
I was especially proud of my work on the little bear at the front of
the book. I did get a little slapdash towards the end of the book though
and I can't honestly say that the clown represents my best work.
Wednesday
15th October
I went to the library today and selected some books on
my own. I chose each one on separate journeys up and down the library.
As well as getting some nice books, I was also getting some much needed
exercise.
I made some art today too. Mum cut out some flower shapes
and I licked them and stuck them onto some bits of card. We made lots
of flowers from all the petal shapes. Dad's one was the best. I am assured
he will be hanging it up at work somewhere.
I'm learning to say "giant excavator" but it
keeps coming out as "giant acher-baker".
Tuesday
14th October
I did some speed puzzle building today. Mum went into
the kitchen and when she came back I had finished the bob the builder
puzzle. Very difficult I can tell you.
I did some special rolling around playing with Andrew
today. I think I was very lucky not to make him cry. I lay on my back
and rolled Andrew on to my tummy and around onto the floor. I was careful
not to bang his head. Andrew thought the whole game was very funny indeed.
We went to the park with Mum in the afternoon and I sat
with Mum on the swings for a long time. We looked at the tops of the
trees and the sky and had a lovely time.
Monday
13th October
I've had to put up with a lot today. Andrew has been sooooooo
grumpy. He has made an awful lot of fuss and bother and it's been me
that has had to put up with it. I am doing a good job learning to read
books quietly. Sometimes I might even try to do a puzzle in a secret
corner somewhere. I was thinking of asking Dad to make me a private
corner for that sort of activity. I wonder if he can invent something?
We shall see.
I did some lovely paintings today - There were some special
green ones that I did for Dada and a few red ones too. I'm thinking
of maybe moving on to blue soon. I would have used it today, but I couldn't
quite reach the pot.
Sunday
12th October
Today has been the perfect day for doing some puzzles.
A little bit windy outside and nice and warm inside. Near pefect conditions.
Andrew roaming around the floor adds some danger to the proceedings.
I did several large floor puzzles even before breakfast. Sometimes I
have to retire to the kitchen table because Andrew gets too interested
and starts undoing the puzzles for me. When I've finished a puzzle I
generally like to take one piece out and put it in again. I may repeat
this a number of times. It gives you that "I've just finished a
puzzle" feeling almost for no effort.
We went out for tea. Dad ordered me a delicious pizza
which I did not eat. I did the Bob the Builder colouring book instead.
My favourite phrase at the moment is "err... no thank
you".
Saturday
11th October
I have been a little bit sick today. There's a rash on
my face and I feel a bit floppy. I was too floppy to go shopping even,
and that's usually something that I quite like to do. Eventually I went
out with Mum into town to meet Dad and Andrew and as a treat I got to
sit in the back of the pushchair, which is usually Andrew's sole domain.
The afternoon was spent being either grumpy or sleeping.
I do have a new toy though - it's a fimble. I was alternately Grumpy
and Floppy with a little bit of good mixed in when Gaye and Toni came
to visit.
Friday
10th October
I was trying to get Dad to help me with a puzzle this
evening. He had just managed to read me a few books, but he dropped
the last one. After that I moved onto my puzzle because his eyes were
shut and he wouldn't read anymore. I kept asking him if "this piece
goes in here" and "Daddy, does this bit go in here I think"
but there was no answer. Eventually I had to bang him on the tummy and
only then did he say "yes yes....Zzzzz". Rubbish Dad. He did
let me jump on his tummy though, so that made up for it.
Thursday
9th October
I have been doing some singing today and plenty of it.
For example: "Have I ever looked at a Fimble, where is it? Over
there" - I'm not sure they are the exact words, but they are close
enough. The other songs were "honey-penny, two a penny" and
"up up up the sky above, like a diamond. It's bunken". Sometimes
it's best to make up your own words. They are often better.
I was feeling a little bit sick in the evening and so
I couldn't really manage to eat any tea, which was a shame, because
Dad had made me some Hat-car and had made the extra effort to spell
my name in cheese. The last I saw of it, my name had gone a bit crumbly
and curly at the edges. Maybe I will get my name in cheese again one
day soon.
Wednesday
8th October
Mum has bought me a lovely toy or "toooooo"
as I like to call them. It's
a floor map with some roads and things on and some tiny tiny wooden
cars that I can push around. Andrew was trying to help me but he doesn't
enjoy the pushing so much, he's still more into the sucking of the cars.
I don't mind too much, even when they come back all drooly.
Andrew
and I had a lot of fun chasing each other around the floor - I had to
resort to crawling so that he could keep up with me because he STILL
can't walk yet, although he is trying very hard. Everytime Dad stood
up we crawled under his legs. It was very funny when he fell over onto
the sofa. He didn't hurt himself too much though. I made up for it by
jumping on his tummy.
Tuesday
7th October
I tried eating some more noodles today. They were very
nice but there is a small problem - they take ages and ages to eat when
you do it one at a time. They are "beaufitul" though.
I played a lovely game of "did we see a monkey"
with Dad today, it's a very good game. Dad asks me, "did we see
a..." and I say "oh no thank you" until Dad gets to an
animal that I like. Then I say "thank you, yes please, did we see
a monkey" or whatever animal it is. It's usually a monkey though.
Monkeys are the best.
Monday
6th October
I've been exceptionally well behaved today. I put it down
mainly to not having to listen to a grumbling small brother all afternoon.
Although there have been no surprise hugs from me, so that may account
for the lack of grumbling. I imagine it's a two way thing. Yin and Yang.
Give and take - that kind of thing.
I did some leaf printing today. Mum helped me paint a
few leaves and we stuck them to a bit of paper. Then we pulled them
off again. Then we stuck some more on. Mum seemed to be having lots
of fun so I let her do most of the actual artwork. I was more interested
in washing up in the sink.
"It's fishened." That's what I say when I've
completed a puzzle. During the actual puzzle completion process I may
use other phrases - "This bit goes in here I think"; "we'll
need this bit" and "this bit is rubbish".
Sunday
5th October
We EVENTUALLY went to the park today, but I'm afraid I'm
going to have to write a strongly worded letter (or email) to one or
other of my parents to complain in the strongest possible terms about
the length of wait I had to endure before my eventual first go on the
slide. First Mum had Dad had to do a load of jobs, then Mum went out,
then Mat-ca and At-ca came to visit and then Andrew fell asleep and
then we had lunch AND THEN AND ONLY THEN did we venture to the park.
It was very very windy and cold too, although I'm told that there's
nothing Mum or Dad can do about that.
I did have a lovely time playing with At-ca this morning
though - she sat down with me and I showed her all my cars and then
we played the "which one's coming now" game. This is where
I pose the question "Which one's coming now??" and then reveal
the answer by sliding the car of my choice over the floor for Aleks
(At-ka) to make a pile with. It's a great game and even better when
the person you're playing it with has several online shrines.
Saturday
4th October
I ate some noodles today. First Mum told me that I would
like them if I tried and then Dad told me that I would like them if
I tried them. I didn't really believe either of them for ages and ages
- until I tried one very very tiny one and then I discovered that Mum
and Dad had been telling the truth - I DID LIKE THEM and so I ate a
few more. I only wish I had believed Mum and Dad earlier - then they
wouldn't have been quite so cold.
Friday
3rd October
Andrew has been driving me bonkers today. He's been tearing
up my carefully constructed puzzles and making his terrible racket.
I've been very good about the whole thing and haven't exacted any kind
of revenge.
I've been singing a lovely song about 5 lovely firemen
today. Apparently they are all quite good at putting out fires even
though there are progressively less firemen to do the fire putting out
job as the song progresses. GREAT!
Thursday
2nd October
There will be no news today.
Wednesday
1st October
It turns out that I may be a puzzle genius. I seem to
have an innate ability to correctly place a piece in it's correct position.
It's either that or the fact that I have done each puzzle in my collection
about 100 times. Thankfully Mum bought me some new ones at the weekend
which are challenging my abilities to their very limits.
P**. T*ilet. I think I've said enough.
I've been a very well behaved boy today and this time
there are photographs to prove it. Mum took a lovely one of Andrew and
me, I'm going to get Dad to put it on the pictures page. It's about
time he did some work over there. I also ate some sausage at tea time.
I think Dad may have tricked me into eating it but it turned out to
be quite nice really.
